(NASHVILLE)- Senator John Stevens announced today that four cities will be the recipient of Infrastructure Planning Grant funds as part of the Department of Economic and Community Development’s Rural Economic Opportunity (REO) Fund. Applications were open to utilities that serve distressed counties and those that have been designated as distressed utilities by the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury. This grant is tremendous news for our residents,” said Senator Stevens. “The funds will help meet the critical needs of our growing community.”
The funds were allocated under a procedure authorized by the Tennessee General Assembly. ECD administers the grant program based on priorities set at the local level where community needs are best known.
